KDAR with DSL or Bonsai on a pentium 2 as a backup machine

I have an old Pentium 2 PC that I would like to set up as a backup storage machine.

I will add another HDD and install either DSL (having some problems with that at the moment) or maybe another slimmed down distro.

I would like to use KDAR as the backup utility because it seems fairly easy to use.

Is this a feasible project to take on?

Is DSL suitable for the job or should I be looking at somthing else, perhaps Bonsai or Feather.

All I want is to be able to set a machine that does the backups and is stable.

Thanks for any help on this.
