So, I just allowed Amarok about eight hours to build an index of my (clean) mp3 tree today over NFS. Sure it was slow, I get that. But after all that waiting, it couldn't index stuff like Rhythmbox. Why do you all use it? Further, I had to install all those nasty KDE libraries to my pristine Gnome setup. Such a waste. apt-get purge! apt-get stay-clean (e.g. the --avoid-kde-libraries-and-amarok flag)! Boo amarok, boo KDE. Woo Gnome fanboism. Fan my flames.

I like the features to fetch the cover and the lyrics for us from the Internet. It also has integration with lastFM. And it shows the stats for your musics and albums. Supports a variety of plugins and skins, and, until some time ago, several different engines.
I prefer amarok 1.4 over amarok 2.0. Having my library and the database (mysql) on my desktop even though I mostly use my laptop is conventient as well.
I'll also get a quick list of new podcasts with:
