iwlib.h missing

Trying to configure some software, among them Xsupplicant 1.2.8, I get an error because I haven't got iwlib.h. Does anyone know where I can get this header?

disassembler 11-02-2006 12:46 PM

Wireless-tools...

Does anyone know where i can get the header compiler.h?

You need to install wireless-tools-devel.

I have just installed wireless-tools-devel on Fedora 7, and restarted the machine. However, I still get the same error that iwlib.h is missing when I try to do ./configure on xsupplicant. Any ideas?

Cheers

Try running ldconfig as root and the reconfigure. If that does not work, try doing
Code:

export INCLUDE_PATH=$INCLUDE_PATH:/usr/include
After that try reconfiguring xsupplicant.

I am having the same problem. Initially, I did not have the wireless-devel-tools installed. After installing it locate retuens /usr/include for iwlib.h but the problem is still there. I also did ldconfig and exporting the INCLUDE_PATH as you said but still the problem is there. Can anyone help me in this regard?

That happens because ./configure requires linux headers directly:

for ac_header in iwlib.h
do
as_ac_Header=`echo "ac_cv_header_$ac_header" | $as_tr_sh`
echo "$as_me:$LINENO: checking for $ac_header" >&5
echo $ECHO_N "checking for $ac_header... $ECHO_C" >&6
if eval "test \"\${$as_ac_Header+set}\" = set"; then
echo $ECHO_N "(cached) $ECHO_C" >&6
else
cat >conftest.$ac_ext <<_ACEOF
/* confdefs.h. */
_ACEOF
cat confdefs.h >>conftest.$ac_ext
cat >>conftest.$ac_ext <<_ACEOF
/* end confdefs.h. */

#define HEADERS_KERNEL
#include <sys/socket.h>
#ifndef __user
#define __user
#endif
#include <linux/types.h>
#include <linux/if.h>
#include <linux/wireless.h>

config.log says:

configure:4527: checking for iwlib.h
configure:4551: gcc -c -g -O2 -Wall conftest.c >&5
In file included from /usr/include/iwlib.h:58,

That's must be bugreported to the author
