iv just brought a camcorder


hi iv just brought a camcorder can any one tell me what software i need to
play it on my comp as i want to send some clips to people
im running redhat 9 iv got "Aries celeron" any help is appreciated thanks

Ok, now how about a little more info.
Make and model?
Is it USB or Firewire?
Have a look at www.linux-usb.org if its USB. Might find some info there.

If it is Firewire have a look here:

well they supplied a usb cable but they allso gave me a cd but its 4 windows
and iv never heard of firewire thanks

ok my camcorder i v got is a sony trv255 digital video camera my prcessor is a
intel(R) celeron(R) CPU 2.00GHz im running redhat 9 thanks

Firewire AKA 1394 AKA Ilink is a communication interface similar to USB.

Sorry, I do not have any experience with USB DV devices. Hopefully someone else does.
