Issue with mount

Hello,

I have a Linux (Fedora 4) computer in my school network, and a shared file server (Windows 2003 Server). In the file server there is a folder called temp$, which contains a subfolder called something.

When I tried to mount the folder temp$ to my linux using:

Code:
mount -t cifs -o username=myuser,password=mypassword servername:temp$ /mnt/myfolder
or

Code:
mount -t cifs -o username=myuser,password=mypassword //servername/temp$ /mnt/myfolder
it worked just fine. But if I want to mount just the subfolder something as:

Code:
mount -t cifs -o username=myuser,password=mypassword servername:temp$/something /mnt/myfolder
or

Code:
mount -t cifs -o username=myuser,password=mypassword //servername/temp$/something /mnt/myfolder
then it said:

Code:
retrying with upper case share name
mount error 6 = No such device or address
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)
Could anyone reveal this case for me?

And another question, does FC4 offer a way to protect this mounted folder from being read, written or executed by other people (even when they use root account)?

Thanks for reading.

AFAIK, that's right, you can't mount subfolders, just real shares,
