Is there a way to have an rsync prefix?

The suffix option is nice, but it's especially annoying when dealing with windows machines because it changes filetypes... Are there any solutions to adding a prefix to the beginning of backed up files rather than a suffix?

If you don't find what you are looking for in the options it is not that difficult (if you have any C programming knowledge) to go into backup.c of the rsync code and maybe another file or two and add it your self. Adding an option is not that difficult.

good luck
