Is there a Powerpoint equivalent for Linux?
The one that comes with Open Office cant even come close to powerpoint. Getting powerpoint to work on linux is a hassle.

you can run microsoft office on linux using crossover office:
http://www.codeweavers.com/site/products/ if you are not satisfied with the thing that comes with openoffice.org i honestly doubt you'll find any other (free) native linux app that will do it for you... so you should probably focus on commercial software or getting powerpoint to run on linux rather than looking for a free non-existant near-equivalent... |
OpenOffice.org suite has a module that will play PowerPoint presentations and will create that kind of presentation as well. Worth a try--it's free.
(Edit) Sorry, I didn't notice somebody had already suggested this. |
Hrm, well Star Office has presentation software... but you have to pay for star office. KOffice has KPresenter. I can't attest to its usefullness as I've never used it.
I've never used OO.orgs Impress either though. What don't you like about it? |
I dont like impress. I't just way too simple. Cant make any complicated animations like powerpoint does. May be I should just try to get office working.
