Is the Memory info given by dmesg and /proc/meminfo same?

Hi,
The physical memory information in Linux can be obtained from /proc/meminfo or by dmesg (/var/log/messages). Is the information given by both the methods same or there is a difference.
Regards,
Sameer

Hi and welcome to LQ.

/proc/meminfo has a lot more detail than that shown by dmesg.
