ipw2200, wireless extension driver problem

I get this error when running iwlist scan, or iwspy, etc

Warning: Driver for device eth1 has been compiled with version 20
of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 19.
Some things may be broken...

I'm funning FC5. My wireless NIC is an ipw2200BG. These packages installed via yum:
ipw2200-kmdl-2.6.17-1.2145_FC5-1.1.0-40.rhfc5.at
ipw2200-firmware-2.4-7.at
ipw2200-1.1.0-40.rhfc5.at

dmesg | grep ipw
ipw2200: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 Network Driver, 1.1.0
ipw2200: Copyright(c) 2003-2006 Intel Corporation
ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
ipw2200: Detected geography ZZM (11 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels)

everything looks cool here.

Google searches have come up pretty empty. lots of people referencing this but no real explanation of a fix for the problem. What do I need to update to fix this?

Hi!

I get the same warning too. But
Quote:
iwlist scan
works fine... I think, this is just an updating issue - someone has forgotten to re-compile the driver

I don't think its the driver that wasn't compiled, it seems like the software. Wireless tools only supports up to version 19 of wireless extensions (I have the latest wireless tools) and the driver was compiled using version 20. In this case I think its wireless tools that needs to be updated to support version 20 of wireless extension. It works for me as well, but I don't like error messages
