Ipod Shuffle using GTKPod
I just got an ipod shuffle and i'm having difficulties using it in linux (suse 9.2). I've loaded it with music through itunes in windows but would rather do it in linux. I've read some stuff about gnupod but would rather use something with a GUI like GTKPod. I installed an rpm for GTKPod but can't get it working.
Can anybody give me some detailed instructions on how to setup linux for the shuffle using GTKPod? Do i need to mount the ipod? if so how? Thanks |
Here's a page on installing an RPM using YaST:

I've installed GTKPod via an rpm, I think I mounted the shuffle and i added a line to fstab, but when i open gtkpod and press sync a window pops up asking if i want to create the following directories: /media/ipod/Calendars
/media/ipod/Contacts /media/ipod/iPod_Control /media/ipod/iPod_Control/Music /media/ipod/iPod_Control/iTunes /media/ipod/iPod_Control/Music/F00 ... /media/ipod/iPod_Control/Music/F19 I press OK then another window pops up saying: iPod directory structure must be present before synching to the iPod can be performed. ANy ideas??????????? |

If you can't get your ipod to work under GTKPod then iTunes can be installed using Crossover Office. I'm not sure if it will run under wine, though is should since crossover is basically tweaked wine.
