Internet using a Verizon LG 9900 as a wireless modem.
I'm using the above-mentioned cell phone as a wireless modem to connect. Under Windows, I use Verizon's software and it connects fine and holds the connection for as long as I need. Under Linux, I used pppconfig to set the device up, using the following settings: Modem port: /dev/ttyACM0 Dial type: Tones Volume: Off. I have the username and password right, since the connection is successful on each try (using pon to start the connection). The issue is, for some reason I can't explain, the connection drops randomly. It's a 3g connection, but I don't know if that makes a difference. Also, though I don't see how this applies but I want to supply as much info as possible, the phone connects to the computer via a USB cable. Does anyone have any insights?
