internet radio app

I was just wondering if anybody could suggest a linux music application that allowed me to listen to internet radio (or streaming music or whatever) like iTunes allows you to do. Thanks!

Depends on the format. Realplayer can do it but I prefer xmms when I can use it.

You might look into mplayer and mplayer plugin for media embedded in web pages. of course the activex media stuff wont work in linux. so launch.com is out of the question.

I forgot you need w32codecs also get them and mplayer while you still can.

XMMS is great, light weight and is just an audio player unlike Mplayer which is an everything-and-the-kitchen-sink player. Rather than XMMS though, which uses Gtk1 to draw it's widget, I'd suggest having a look at Beep Media Player, it's XMMS in every way except it uses Gtk2 to draw to the screen. Results in less ugly widgets and if you use GNOME/Gtk-based applications most it'll fit in with your theme.

But pretty much any audio player will work although from experience I can tell you, Rhythmbox won't work with all streams...
