You will have to give us more information before we can help you.
What is the output of "ps aux"?
What is the output of "cat /proc/cpuinfo"?
What is the output of "cat /proc/meminfo"?
What does the program "top" show you?
Can you identify any processes using "top" that are using large amounts of memory or hogging the CPU?
What is the output of "netstat -n"?
Do you see lots of errors or dropped packets when you run "ifconfig"?
These commands will help you do basic troubleshooting. If you post the output here, we can probably point you in the right direction.
One more question: Does the Windows machine have a faster CPU and/or more memory than the Linux machine?
