Interface issue


Did not get any response from the networking forum so posting here...

guys:
below is my traceroute output from each of the interfaces on my RH 9 system

# traceroute -i eth0 216.24.15.123
traceroute to 216.24.15.123 (216.24.15.123), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 sftphsvr1 (216.24.15.14) 2999.361 ms !H 2999.812 ms !H 2999.922 ms !H

# traceroute -i eth1 216.24.15.123
traceroute to 216.24.15.123 (216.24.15.123), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 download (216.24.15.123) 0.190 ms 0.176 ms 0.361 ms

Why is it that traffic not flowing from eth0?

Below is my netstat -r output

# netstat -r
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface
216.24.15.23 * 255.255.255.224 U 0 0 0 eth1
216.24.15.123 * 255.255.255.224 U 0 0 0 eth1

default 216.24.15.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth1

Both interfaces are up according to ifconfig output.

What is wrong here ?
