instant message form command line

Hi All,

I'm using redhat 9 and was curious if instant messaging form the command line is possible? I know gaim, aim, and yahoo messenger are available, but I'd like to do it from the command line if possible.

Bone-Im or bonim works for the AIM service... Used to use it. Can't remember exactly how it's spelled.
It really did take me a long time to find one while i was looking, too.

I've been using naim for a while, just to chat. Do any of the command-line aim clients offer file transfer?
