installing SuSe Linux on 2nd (windows 98) HDD
I have SuSe Linux 7.1 and want to install the full version on a 2nd HDD, currently config is for Windows 98, FAT32, 20Gb. There is nothing on this 2nd (EIDE) HDD and I want to put aside c.10Gb for Linux and leave the remainder for Windows.
My understanding is that I can have the 2 o/s's concurrently on the HDD but I would need to insert CD/floppy at boot up of the PC so it knows that I wish to 'fire up' the Linux environment (on the 2nd HDD) rather than W98 on the primary HDD and 1/2 of the 2nd HDD.
I tried at first to shrink the windows partition on the 2nd HDD and altho I have run scandisk and defrag on it, then tried again, the linux install processes indicate that I cannot proceed with a shrinking the current primary (only) partition on the 2nd HDD.
Advice please ...
Thanks
