Login incorrect?
Let me get this straight, before you added this line, you got the error that something was missing from your config.
You added the appropriate line, and you are receiving a password error now?

Go check your password, your login (make sure no caps, remember!) and restart proftpd again, if it is running in daemon mode, instead of inetd. If it's in inetd, it should reload itself automatically...

Erm... just double check all that, come back here, and tell me what ya get.

Also, can you post your proftpd.conf file up to this point?
