Installing Mandrake 9.1 Beta2
Hello All,
I have heard that Mandrake 9.0 had a problem fetching memory with Athlon processors. I really like Mandrake and I am downloading the 9.1 beta2. Do you think the beta should work okay, just like 9.0 with all the packages and everything. It is two ISO files.
By the way I am running a Compaq Presario with AMD ATHLON XP 2000+
with 256 DDR ram and a 40 gig drive.
Mandrake 9.0 was so slow and locked up every two minutes when you would try to exit a program?

Thanks Tricky,
Yes I know, it reallys wasn't that it crashed it just hung up a lot exiting programs, I loved it. I like RedHat too though. I think a really nice thing about mandrake is the web browser, its the same but the fonts stay one size and do not change everytime you reopen the browser. I have tried setting the font size in RH 8.0 but does not seem to hold. That is probably something I am doing wrong too, lol.
