Need help installing Java on Mandrake 8.1. I've tried several times with no luck. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or not doing. I tried installing from a .bin file, rpm file and letting mozilla doing the install, all with no luck.
I'm not getting any error messages, but when I go to a page that has Java I get the install plugin box. On all the installs I tried everything seem to go ok.
If you issue
which java
what is the output?
Secondly, if you installed kaffe suite on your machine it will interfere with java, uninstall kaffe and reinstall java.
