Installed XFree86 4.3 - now only have xterm. Where's the window manager?

I needed to upgraded to XFree86 4.3 for my GeForce FX card (running RH 7.3). Now that's I've installed 4.3, when I run startx, I only get an xterm. What happened to my window manager and how do I get it back?

shouldn't there be some sort of .xsession file or something like that? If so, what should it contain to bring up KDE?

Thanks.

Let me get this straight:
You cannot start X and are in fact stuck with the CLI.

Did you use startx previously?
If you want direct GUI login try xdm or gdm instead, they will likely come configured to launch every installed wm.

Yes I used startx before. It's a brand new box - i always start new boxes at run level 3.

I can, infact, start x, however, I just get xterm - you know, circa '95 Unix look... no panel, no wallpaper, can't close windows with buttons at the upper left/right, etc.

I'm not sure what xdm and gdm are?
