Installation help needed for a North Carolina newbie

My sister-in-law lives in Riverbend, NC (suburb of New Bern) and has a real need to become a Linux newbie. She has an older machine (Windows) and can't afford or technically deal with upgrading her Norton anti-virus package. Her computing needs are, as far as I can tell, not dependent on any proprietary MS apps. I am a 71 year old newbie to Linux (Ubuntu) and would gladly help her convert if I could (I live in NY state so I can't just stop by.).
Also, she needs more talented help than I can provide. She is willing to pay someone (a reasonable amount) to pay her a visit and install Linux on her machine. I'm just hoping there is someone in her area who would be kind enough to help her. If you or anyone you know would be willing to assist her, please respond and we will figure out a way to get you in touch with her.
Also, if I have placed this message in the wrong forum, please let me know where it should be and I will make another post.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I went looking for user groups in the area--the best I could find was at NCSU in Raleigh.

I'll bet you a cookie that someone there would just love to make a few bucks helping your sister in law. If I were that close, I'd do it just for the gas money.

(They probably know a Linux user who is closer.)

another option is to post her request on craigslist. I see these postings all the time. I normally just take the time and help them for free as I get enjoyment out of it.
