Angry installation exit abnormal !!!!

i tried to install RedHat 7.2 on my machine, during installation the message "exit abnormal" appeared and the installation was aborted !
this happened twice, the first time before selecting the packages to be installed (the previous steps were successfully ended e.g. detecting vga)
it reported that the setup can't write to a temp folder on the hard!!!! (or something like that)
also it was noted in the error message that this may not be the real reason in this error !!!!!
i installed RedHat 7.2 more that 5 times before with no problems but after i changed some hardware i faced this problem!!!!
my machine:
celeron 600MHz - 256 SDRAM - 8MB S3 VGA - 10 GB WD Hard Disk.....
Note: the hard is secondry slave, is that the main prob. ????
thanks so much

No, I don't think that is a problem. It could be a problem i your CD media, or something related to the hardware changes you've made... Why don't you try RH 9 or fedora?

i think u r right, anyway i changed the following hardware:
a. the mother board (it was Shuttle and now Intel).
b. VGA card (S3 Trio 8MB) but it was detected by the installer.
c. i added another RAM chip 128 MB.
how can i check the compatibility with Linux 7.2 ??
by the way i can't install RH9.0 because my modem is Conexant and
i have the driver for RH7.2 only (the driver for RH9.0 is available
too but not free !!!! ).
another question plz, how can i check the validty of the cds?
thanks so much

Red Hat 7.2 is a tad outdated.
