install grub

grub will not work

i have a sata with windows
i have a scsi with gnu/linux slackware
grub is unable to map the scsi drive

error is unknown partition type 0x7

can't get to to see the scsi drive.
i want to boot from a floppy.
grub installed to floppy
but it does not see the scsi drive, i guess it only sees the sata

any ideas at all >?

i newer used slakware but it has to be the same like for other OP
I use kernel 2.6.20 and in kernel configuration there is an SATA section
U didn't sayed your kernel version but if u have an older version of kernel try to change it, cause i don't have any problems on gentoo

got it

yeah i got it
i just had to clean up my kernel a bit
and then make a boot disk
grub still is not working
i think it has something to do with mapping
like this ...
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-xe...6/13/0003.html

but it is close enough for now.

It's been a rough ride lately.
simultaneous failure of mobo, ps, and vid.
SO i ended up buying all new stuff.
This stuff is smokin' fast. something like 17,000 fps in glxgears
very nice. and very stable,

I am up for a linux admin position, i'll know next week.
I did ok on the interview
( considering i didn't use my computer for about 5 months )
looks very promising.

thanks bud
