alrite . im not total linux newb . i have been playing around linux for a while, i can install my own custom kernels and such now

basics of wut im doing:
im building a server
i choose debian - sarge (stable)

problem:
the debian installer boots and everything, then it goes to the part "detecting cd rom" then it says it can not mount the cdrom

exact quote is : "your installation cd-rom couldn't be mounted"

i tried the parameter "pci=off", this time it can mount the cdrom, BUT i cant use my ethernet card :S

Hi, and welcome to LQ!

Maybe if you gave more input about the hardware we're
looking at? In particular make & model of the CD, and
what type of controller it's attached to?

Cheers,
Tink
