IceWM has a fairly simple help facility, but it does reference where the menu system is located. I'm not at my Linux box now, but the menu file is in a share directory under /etc, IIRC. The "preferences" file should be located in a .icewm directory (note the "dot" in the name) under each user name home directory. For preferences, you can either manually edit the file, or you can use icepref, which depending on your distro may have been installed along with icewm. If icepref wasn't installed, it's worth an internet search!!

does this mean i should upgrade python ?

also after install icepref i got :

bash-2.05# icepref
/usr/bin/env: python: No such file or directory

any help would be C00L ( i`m running slackware 8.0 and i can`t imagine any library being ``too old`` )

:(

i just read the help notes about icewm instalation and i read this :

``Usually automatically generated menu configuration file of installed programs. The programs file should be automatically generated by wmconfig (Redhat), menu (Debian) or an equivalent program (kde2ice and gno2ice to convert GNOME/KDE Menu hierarchy are available). ``

how can i find the right file on slackware ? this is the file that runs the menu , right ? i guess i`m going to do a manual config myself as i did with blackbox . Only problem don`t even know the name of the file i`m looking for . Is there anybody running slackware with icewm to tell anything ? thanks a lot
