I/O error on boot

Hi to anyone who can help me.
I'm recieving a Buffer I/O error on device hdb2, on sector 0-2 and linux aborts booting and freezes. I have changed my IDE cable and checked the harddrive and both are working. It booted fine till I lost power the other day. Yes, I never shut off my computers! Is there a way to fix this problem?

How did you check the hdd's? Last time I saw this, was a badsector problem. I used the 'badblocks" program to scan the drives.
