I have no sound at all, and I'm very confused

I recently installed pc linux os version 9.2. when testing from the cd rom, my sound worked fine. once I put it on the hard drive, I lost all sound and can't figure out exactly what I did wrong or how to fix it.

this may sound stupid, but did you check that its not muted or that the sound is turned up?

if they are ok then open up the pclinuxos control centre and there should be a section in there for dealing with sound, because its defintly compatable if it worked from the live cd.

well assumign you are using kde there should be a little sound icon i the takbar, double clickt hat and a load of switches will load up, then set them correctly.

if its not in the task bar it will be in the k menu under volume manager or something like that.
