I have 768Mb of RAM,how do I tell Linux to use only 512?


I am not a newbie,but I do need details.Thanks for any advice.

Add "mem=512M" to the boot parms.

Yes,I was aware of that,it can also be written as `mem=0x32000000' but I was wondering if that is enough,since it is a kernel configuration and I don't need another kernel panic.
