i got my kernel to work!! but...


i fixed that error message (only took me a few hours) but now when i use the new kernel (2.4.20) my network card doesnt work....its a Linksys Fast Ethernet 10/100

i dont see anything like it in my rc.modules files...what do i do

How did you upgrade?? I am trying to, but it's beginning to be a pain.

well do u have DSL or a Cable modem?

remove it run kudzu it will remove configuration for it install it again and run kudzu it must configure for the system update use up2date agent

i dont use red hat or up2date agent..

You may have missed the module needed for that card during your compile, did you do "make modules" and "make modules_install"?
The file /etc/rc.d/rc.netdevice is what slackware uses to load and configure NIC's, have a look at it in a text editor and try to load the module manually.
