Post I Can't Hear You

I just installed slackware 8.0 yesterday and my volume is horrid. I have turned it up all the way in the mixer and on the speakers... I've run other versions of linux AND windows and I know what these speakers are capable of...
is there another spot to adjust volume? or a way to amplify?

it sounds like you already know this, but just to make sure... there are always two volume controls - the main mixer, and the volume control on the actual program running the sound. if you're running kde, then you need to check kmixer - if you're on gnome, then check the mixer applet.
