i cannot install linux on a machine


please help
i´m trying to install Mandrake 8.2 on a new machine for me
i just format it, and i had made the partitions and already install Windows
but when i go to install Linux, it says that he is looking for the programs to install and he stays there forever

why??

Have you used those CD's before? It could be a problem with the iso. Also, you would like to try some other distros like Redhat or newer Mandrakes... 8.2 is a bit out of date

It's very hard to know why some distros hangs under the installation... I've had problems like this myself, so then I've tried with another distro and it worked .
