Question i can't write in my floopy


hi,

each time i try to write in a floppy disc i recived this message: peripherique bloc/dev/fd0 is protected you can only read not write. i verify the floppy and is ok , i change my driver for another i had and still i can't write i do not know what the problem is.

please help!

my english is not very good sorry

Check the floppy first if it is indeed write-protected, there is a tab on the corner of it, make sure the tab covers the opening, then if it is OK and still no luck in /etc/fstab next to floppy entry add rw option so it'll look like
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,rw 0 0
I have never had a problem with my floppies and I don't even have the rw option in my fstab but who knows.
