hyper-terminal

Hi!I want to know if a program such as hyper-terminal exists in linux. I have used recently the hyper-terminal to configure a router. I want to configure my router for linux(if it is possible)=>(it must be). The settings are:
Pc->router through Serial (COM 0)
baud rate 9600
....
Do u know the commands?

I can have access to the serial port using ssh? How?

Still, why are you using a serial connection? If it's for the mental exercise then cool, otherwise I don't know why you'd want to do that.
