Unhappy HP DL585 boot issue with Ubuntu 8.10 Server amd64

I have tried numerous times to get my HP DL585 G1 server to boot up after attempting several separate installations of Ubuntu 8.10 Server AMD64. Nothing comes up but a blank screen after the computer says it is attempting to read disk C. I have indicated in the ROM based setup utility that I am using a Linux operating system. I have also structured a RAID 5 configuration using four separate hard drives. Does anyone have any suggestions?
