I have recently installed Debian Sarge using the new Installer (which, I might add, is a dramatic improvement. It's clear a lot of work has been put in to it).
I am currently trying to piece together a clear walkthrough of the Install process, complete with screenshots of the Installer in action.
I have a spare test partition with which to reinstall Debian & make notes.
However, I don't know how to obtain screenshots from a console.
Is there an easy way to grab screenshots as I am installing, or do I need some sort of specialised tool for the job?
When installing Redhat, you can press shift - Print Screen to take a snapshot. The images are saved in /root/anaconda-screenshots.
I don't know if the other distros allow this feature and if so where the images would be saved.
OK - we are at Etch now and i have the exact same question for basically the same purpose.
especially the partitioning (raid6 + raid1) is what i need so most screenshots available on the web are actually no good.
