How to use special characters on linux????


How can I get the accented characters (a e i o u with a cuote upon each one ) with a English U.S. Keyboard????

Special characters

Once you've got the right keyboard layout installed (I'm using UK), you can use the AltGr key (right Alt) to get a lot of characters. AltGr-a will give the a/e ligature, for example. Also, AltGr with [ ] ; ' # will put a accent on the next vowel.

Maybe not. But better late than never. And also, this thread might come up in some google/similar search and some individual might derive some benefit out of it.
