How to use grub4dos to install windows?

ive tried asking on the ubuntu forums but offically they seem to not like me whatsoever so im asking here instead... what is the most simplest easiest way to install windows?
(i dont care if its windows 1.0 or windows 8 really) and completely remove ubuntu without using a CD or flash drive?

since its impossible to install windows using wine.
i wondered if windows 8 would install through wine or is it in the same boat as all previous versions of windows? virtualbox virtual machine machine is useless to me
I'm using safari web browser on ubuntu 12.04 and i MUST say it is waaay better than firefox.. should come pre-installed with ubuntu!

im seriously really sorry if this thread has to be moved. im honestly clueless on where to post this as it includes windows..? sorry i tried to put my sentences in paragraph but it keeps removing all the spaces and putting my sentences run-on

So... what does this have to do with Linux at all? You just want to wipe it out? So you'd just install windows as normal. It doesn't make sense to utilize Ubuntu as you'll be deleting the partitions etc., so it's of no use. There doesn't appear to be any way to install windows without physical installation media, unless you have a hard drive with one of those daft secret reset partitions from the vendor. What sort of scenario are you realistically expecting? running some sort of installer for windows from within Linux?

Yes. exactly... but wine doesnt detect my hard drive whatsoever so the installation cant even start..
(no my pc only has one partition it came with ubuntu because it was very cheap and i wanted to install windows afterwards)
i heard of someone being able to install windows 7 without using a cd he used some sort of grub boot menu entry extracting install files for win7 to another partition.
can i do this for installing windows 8 somehow?
i tried using the commands shown in the tut on how to install win7 without CD from ubuntu using grub boot menu entry on the grub boot menu entry trying to edit the boot options but no avail.
command find not found same for most other commands that are in the tut. i honestly have no idea what to do.
my computer has no way to burn a cd (no cd drive at all) and i dont have a flash drive and cant afford to buy one?
what do i do? there should be a way to boot from a partition that has the install files of windows on it?
or would that just give me operating system not found errors or bootmgr not found or something silly? sorry..
my paragraphs arent working tried editing but it doesnt have an effect where i add spaces.

Where are you? A simple usb stick costs just a few pounds / dollars / euros these days. A seriously disposable price tag to most people.

im in the USA lol my mom wont take me to buy a usb flash drive. (one reason is because she thinks it will infect my computer with viruses.... and two.. because she doesnt give a crap and shes too lazy to go to walmart and buy one... im only 14 years old.. so.. that says a lot.. sorry if i am somehow underage on this site. ;;

someone said you can use grub4dos to boot up from an iso. i have a grub4dos menu entry when i start up ubuntu but im not sure how to mount a certain iso at that boot menu entry this should be way easier if someone knew what i was trying to do.

You must realize your mom, that flash drive has more cons than pros. I don't known how education works in the USA, but you did not need it at school? By the way, it is more probably that your Windows will be infected with virus ealier by Internet, than flash drive. Wine can't install Windows operating system, it is not it purpose - only to execute programs written for Windows.

Borrow one from one of your friends, then do it like here: http://www.ehow.com/how_5222035_inst...ash-drive.html
How do you plan to buy a Windows license if you can't even afford a Flash drive?

I think the issues here are confusing...

First, who owns the computer in question? If your mom owns it, then she has every right to say how it's used. This aside, ask her if we can have a dialog as to whether you can get viruses from a new flash drive. She can sign up here, or she can post a question under your username.

we are also hearing about what you can afford---do you have any kind of job, allowance, etc.? One way or the other, you need to get some money that you control.

Wine is a way to run windows programs. It is not a way to install windows os's.

Virtual machines are ways to allow other os's to run at the same time as the host os runs.

To get windows to start an installer program you have to have some way to either boot to an OS or switch to an OS that can run the installer. So you need some way to boot to an OS that is really windows based. It is not easy anymore to switch while running.

You need some bootable media. If you don't have a flash drive and you don't have a cd rom then you are left with floppy or pxe or maybe pcmcia. Do you have those?

Last is to move the drive to some system, fix the hal there and return. Not easy.

In all of this you'd need a legal copy of some MS os.

not exactly.. but i have a grub.exe in my linux root (boot partition) and in doing so.
i have an option in my linux boot menu listed as grub4dos
i only have two partitions.
one is my root boot partition
and one is a temporary storage for whatever random files i have lying around that i dont have a use for but dont want to delete.. partition size is only enough to hold an .iso of windows 8 release preview or something.. nothing big or special

using this tutorial I am able to get all the way up to a certain point but can get no further
http://ubuntuguide.net/how-to-instal...rnning-a-disc/ i can finish step 3 but can't do anything with step 4 because i dont know how to do step 4.

If you have the windows 8 iso file downloaded, I would concur with the suggestion above by jefro. Install VirtualBox on Ubuntu and then you will be able to install windows in the virtual machine. You can find instructions on how to do it at the site below.

http://www.addictivetips.com/windows...on-virtualbox/

Step says to reboot and edit your grub4dos? How hard can that be? You said you have an entry in the boot menu for grub4dos. Use the up/down arrows on your keyboard to hightlight it and then hit the "c" key on the keyboard. After doing that you should see the grub prompt (grub>) where you enter each line shown separately.

doesnt work in virtual box. (unsupported processor no virtualization availible only works on windows vista and earlier) already tried..

it says file not found bootmgr isn't found

How do I boot into a seperate parition so i can modify my original boot parition? It says unable to unmount when i try to unmount my ubuntu partition which sucks because i only want to change its size so i can add more space to a different partition

in fact how do i install any operating system after i have ubuntu installed??? O.o
