How to tell if you're running xorg or xfree86?

I'm trying to figure out the various ways of determining which X windows server I'm running.

1)Synaptic Package Manager -- just scrolled down and saw a number of xorg packages installed
2)Adept -- same
3)Aptitude -- same

4)top (shows in the 'command' column as "Xorg")

I tried a ps -ef|grep 'X' which returns this:
root 4306 4303 6 18:08 tty7 00:01:21 /usr/bin/X -br -dpi 100 -nolisten tcp :0 vt7

-- though that's not nearly as easy to understand as top's output.

Anyone else have a better way? Thanks.

ls -l /usr/X11R6/bin/X*

The output shows XFree86 as a symlink to Xorg.
