How to stop at run level 3 when booting
 
I changed inittab file. now it get stuck at runlevel 5 when booting. how can I fix it:confused:

What do you mean by "getting stuck", do you mean the system locks up when you're trying to boot to runlevel 5? What was the previous runlevel?

If I remember correctly, at the boot prompt just edit the kernel line and add the runlevel number at the end of the line (3 in your case, right?) and boot.

Yes it worked. THANKS :D
What happened was I changes /etc/inittab to get more Virtual terminals. (Added an 8th line) there after when booting the screen freezes some where after entering run level 5. Now I booted to level 3 and changed that additional line that I had entered.
