How to share single X-session?

Hi!

I wonder if it is possible to share one X-session on two clients (like sharing the desktop in windows using VNC).

The thing is that I want to run linux at my work and then from my home connect to the work-pc (over VPN) and continue where I was when I left work. I know this could be done using VNC but its so damn sluggish and I've got the impression running KDE over X is faster...

Anyone that knows to hook up to running KDE remote?

/Osten

It's built in to KDE.

It's called remote desktop (or something). I think you need to have admin priveleges, it's in the control center (probably under networking - I'm on XP at the mo').

I literally just did this last night!

You create an invite, KDE tells you the IP address and password on the local machine, you then use this pw and IP to log in from the remote point.

Works with TightVNC on XP as the remote ... and I suspect with all other VNC clients.

I have tried to work form home using VNC but it is quite sluggish, not much but enought to get irritated of it after a couple of hours work. If I run KDE over X it is much more responsenes and it feels like Im actually sitting at the remote machine. The only thing is that I haven't figured out how to get and share the kde-session already running on my remote-pc with all my projects, windows etc open....

Ahh, finally found it:

http://www.nomachine.com

That does exactly what I want, it works like a charm and the responsivity is remarkable, it feels that Im actually sitting on the native machine even that Im connected over VPN and ADSL !!

If the connection breaks, the KDE session is suspended and I can reconnect to it and continue where I was without loosing anything. I can also suspend the current session and resume it from another client, very handy when I work in different locations with the same project .

There is a free version available as well but I haven't tested it (yet):
