How to setup ddclient in FC3 behind a fire-wall

Dear all Linux user :

May I ask you some questions about using ddclient (ver. 3.63 and Fedora Core 3) as ¡§dynamic IP updater¡¨ behind a fire-wall.

I already setup a fire-wall to strictly control the IN and OUT packets as well as ports accessing. It means that I almost dropped all the packets. As I don¡¦t know how to found out which ports will be accessed and protocols using by :
1./ the damemons that I set it to run. Eg. ddclient
2./ the bulk-update-homepage in the website of dyndns.org when I logon
the homepage.

Is there anybody so kind to tell me which ports and protocol I should allow to passed my fire-wall for :
1./ ddclient
2./ logon the bulk-update-homepage of dyndns.org
3./ How to found out the ports and protocol involved in running a specific
daemmon.

Additionally I tried to continuesly repeat using the command ¡§#netstat¡¨ to collect the updater¡¦s working information. After that I found two IP address in connecting with the dyndns.org. Then I let the tcp IN & OUT (but no syn) freely for one URL and udp OUT for the rest. Then I was allowed to logon the homepage of dyndns.org. But I am not satisfactory enough for such lose control for a specific URL. And I don¡¦t know using the command ¡§#netstat¡¨ is the good way or not. Do you have any suggestion. If yes please tell me.

Moreover, where can I find the log which marked the activities of the ddclient.

Thank you !
