How to set title in xterm according to what program running ?

Hi, I usually run many terminals simultanously and sometimes have many of them minimized. So all I can see is the title of the minized term icons. What I want to do is have that title display something useful according to what I am using.

For instance if I am in /home/me/dir1/dir2 ... I want to it automatically display that. Or if I am running a program , e.g mutt or matlab, I want the term to automatically displays that also. Is it possible to do so ? Or is there a way around ?

Thanks

This page and the one after should explain it. There are examples for different shells.
