How to save a software package in Ubuntu
In ubuntu to install a software package through terminal we use following command:
sudo apt-get install <package_name>
but I want to save the package, so that I can reinstall it later.
please help me...
All the .deb files downloaded with apt-get are kept in /var/cache/apt/archives/ until you do an "apt-get clean"
PS. Another useful thing is dpkg-repack which can remake the deb file from the installed files (including your changes to config files) on your system.
