How to install the rest of the Linux packages from USB drive after install?

Once again, I am working with my first Linux (Fedora 4) machine and am just figuring out some things.....y'all have been a ton of help!

I am not at the machine right now but I noticed where I could enable automatic updates the other day (I think it was called "yum" or something like that). I noticed in our proxy server's logs where it (the Linux machine) goes out and hits sites like these:

http://209.132.177.50/download/mirro...s-released-fc4
http://209.132.177.50/download/mirrors/fedora-extras-4
http://209.132.177.50/download/mirrors/fedora-core-4
http://203.16.234.91/pub/fedora/linu...9.fc4.i386.rpm
http://203.16.234.90/pub/fedora/linu...9.fc4.i386.rpm
http://130.59.10.35/ftp/mirror/fedor...9.fc4.i386.rpm
http://130.59.10.35/ftp/mirror/fedor...9.fc4.i386.rpm
http://130.59.10.35/ftp/mirror/fedor...9.fc4.i386.rpm

I have figured out that Linux has forty bazillion logs that log everything but is there something that tells me what it is updating (if anything)?

Thanks!

Arch

this will have happened when you upgrade or installed new packages....

i don't know how YUM works, but i presume there is a list of servers where the tool will go when it compiles a package list. so when you install something from YUM it just goes off the the appropriate server on the net and gets it...

so you can look in your sources list. or whatever it's called in YUM
