how to install driver
 
i am a new linux user
can anyone please help me with my driver installation
in windows we just had to click one the executable file and it would install itself
but i dont know the command to install drivers or how to extract

That would depend upon several factors:

1. What distribution are you using and what version?
2. What exact driver do you need to install?
3. Why do you believe it is not already installed - what problem are you having?

The Linux kernel includes most drivers so you do not need to install them - unlike the Windows world, it is all done for you so you don't have to bother.

There are some exceptions to this, depending upon the kernel version you are using and what hardware you have.

i am using fedora 14
and i have Broadcom BCM4312
but i need the driver for it
because when i click on wireless connection
the following message appears

device not ready
firmware missing

it will be helpful if anyone could tell me the commands to install it
