How to install Chinese Language support

Hi, I am new to Linux configuration. Forgive me if my questions are trivial to you.

I installed Fedora Core 4 on PC. (intel x86 processor). At the time installing FC4, I just used the default language (English) to install and didn't select Chinese Language support. Now I feel that a world without Chinese is so inconvenient. Maybe the easiest way is to reinstall FC4 and select Chinese language support. However, I have installed quite a few giant software, such as Globus 4.0.1 (the installation and configuration of Globus 4.0.1 alone cost me several days) and some other softwares.

Could you expert point me a way to install Chinese language support in my case. I hope to get step by step instruction.
Before posting this thread, I have googled internet, searched FC4 installation menu, and also read some threads in LQ regarding Chinese support. However, I didn't get the whole picture. Some thread suggest that SCIM must be installed as a prerequisite, and also some others suggest to inject the installation CD and install chinese language support package (which one? which rpm not specified), some suggests that i18n should be installed? The overflowed information even confused me. That's why I decided to post a new thread regarding this question.

Could you kindly specify the steps for me and other newbies with the same problem? I am very grateful to your help.

Regards,
Xinjun

I'm actually have no idea about this, but from this utterly-useless FAQ it appears that these packages might be useful:
* iiimf-le-chinput (simplified Chinese)
* iiimf-le-xcin (traditional Chinese)

Finally I get my SCIM work!
Thank everybody helped me. I could use SCIM type chinese in gedit, OpenOffice, Gaim, etc.

But I get another crucial problem, I could not use Firefox. I can get the Firefox run, but all i can see from Firefox are "_" (underscores) here and there without a single English or Chinese characters.

The following are some scripts showing the packages i installed and the three relevant environment variables.

[root@r4-1 etc]# rpm -qa | grep scim
scim-tables-chinese-0.5.3-4
scim-tables-0.5.3-4
scim-devel-1.4.2-3
scim-libs-1.4.2-3
scim-pinyin-0.5.91-1
scim-1.4.2-3
scim-doc-1.4.2-3

[root@r4-1 download]# echo $XMODIFIERS
@im=SCIM
[root@r4-1 download]# echo $GTK_IM_MODULE
scim
[root@r4-1 download]# echo $QT_IM_MODULE
scim

awtoc123, could you tell me what's wrong there? Why can I

Regards,
Xinjun
