How to have fonts as nice as in MS Windows?
I tweaked the fontconfig XML files so that fonts look like on Windows. This code is borrowed from PC-BSD. You first need to install the Microsoft fonts. Then download the xml files and extract the file into /etc/fonts/ as root:
Code:
sudo tar -xvjpf nicefonts.tbz -C /etc/fonts/http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8812/opera0hx.png http://img412.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ubuntu5ui.png It's a lot more complex than disabling antialiasing at small font sizes :) For those of us who like the Windows fonts  |
id like to see but you cant really see the fonts in the picture

hmm i dont see a huge difference.. or maybe mine are installed by default. ive never looked into configuring them, oh well.
thanks for updating it so i could check it out |
blugh, I like the fonts that came with KDE much better than the MS-fonts, especially in firefox.

I like the Bitstream Vera family so as always it's about personal taste.
