how to get Total no of process in system

Hi all,

how will i get Total no of process currently in system without having to parse /proc dir entry?? is there any way to directly get this using ioctl + kmem or anyother??

appreciate ur response

Try this

ps -A
If that fills your screen and scrolls off, try this one.

ps -A | less

Press the space bar to get another screen and q when you're done.
