Unhappy how to get smaller font on TTY

I know, this has been answered probably hundrets of times, but I could not find this after searching the web and this forum.
I want to get a smaller font on all consoles, so that I can use my gfx card for something bigger than 80x25.
There is something with a parameter that you pass on to the kernel on startup?

I would appreciate any pointers, no matter how short. Even a pointer to another thread that answers my question would be great.

Thanks in advance.
