How to Fix the issue in files


hi,

When am listing the file using the command ls or ls -l. the files are showing like

36mfile, 36mfile2 like this.. actual file name is file, file1. but it displaying in prefix 36m along with file .. this issues happening in usermode. in graphical mode its appearing fine..

I dont know how it is happening usermode runlevel.

Do you any idea about to fix this issue..

My guess is that the 36m prefixes that you are seeing are due to an improperly done terminal coloration file, which would use console escape sequences to make colored text in the console.

Look through your /etc directory for a file called 'DIR_COLORS' or something similarly named as having something to do with console font colors and check it for syntax errors, formatting errors and the like.

If this is the issue, then the 36m is one half of a color escape code, but the 2nd half of the code is wrong or missing, causing the code to be delivered as ascii text rather than changing the color.
